Edward H. Johnston III, 56, of Ashford, husband of Nancy A. (Canning) Johnston, died Thursday morning Aug. 10, 2006 at home. He was born March 3, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Lillian (McAlpine) Johnston of Tewksbury, MA. and the late Edward Johnston Jr. Ed had been most recently employed in the area by Roto-Rooter. He previously had been employed for 14 years by Bartlett Tree Experts and had also owned and operated Village Landscaping in Tewksbury. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by 2 sons, Corey A. Johnston and Sean C. Johnston both of Ashford; a daughter, Melanie H. Johnston of Columbia, 3 stepsons, Michael King of Coventry, Nicholas King of E. Hartford and Thomas Brum of Willimantic; 3 stepdaughters, Tammy-Lynn King of Searsport, ME., Renee Cote of Coventry and Samantha Brum of Ashford; and 10 grandchildren. His family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00pm with interment following in Woodward Cemetery Ashford.
