Edna Szalankiewicz

Edna Szalankiewicz,84, of North Windham, passed away on August 12, 2003 at Windham Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Peter, her parents Henry and Leda Flegert and two brothers, Larry and Philip. She was a longtime resident of Lebanon, CT., until her marriage to Peter, at which time they moved to Dearborn, Michigan. She is survived by her brother Ray Flegert and his wife Mary of Baltic and their children Ray Jr., Elaine and John. She is also survived by her niece and caregiver, Pauline Fryer, with whom she stayed in North Windham, and Pauline's children: William Sherman and his wife Sondra, Debra Sherman and her partner Liz and their daughter Suzy, Andrew and Lora Tomecko and their children Amanda, Robin and Samantha. Private funeral services will be held with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Assoc., Northern CT. Chapter, 96 Oak St., Hartford, Ct. 06106.
