Edith Keegan Obituary
Edith Krivanec Keegan, 93, wife of the late Francis A. Keegan passed away peacefully on January 4, 2021.  She was born February 3, 1927 in Willington, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Richardson) Krivanec.  Edith was a long time State of Connecticut employee who worked at UConn, ECSU and Superior Court Juvenile Matters in Willimantic, CT.  She loved her flower gardens, word puzzles, reading, crocheting and knitting.  Edith completed and donated many hats and blankets for the Infants in Need Organization.  She leaves her daughters and their spouses; Colleen and Ted Eckert of East Lyme CT, Karen and Ronald Popolizio of Unionville, CT and her beloved granddaughter Sarah Popolizio.  Edith was one of 12 children and leaves behind a brother Kenneth Krivanec, and three sisters, Mabel LeProhon, Elizabeth Johnson and Constance Saba.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Ted and Robert Krivanec and four sisters, Caroline Zizka, Mildred Crandall, Miriam Oberz and Ruth Nadeau.  Her family would like to thank Jeannine Pacheco and Eva Quispe who were there to take care of her when she needed them most.  The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the management and staff of Brookdale of Farmington who kept her safe and well cared for.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department, 167 Route 66, Columbia, CT 06237 in Edith’s name.
