Edith N. (Carney) Ferrigno, 86, of Windham, wife of the late Anthony Ferrigno, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her home. She was born September 14, 1923 in Lebanon, the daughter of John and Milly (Ward) Carney and had lived in Windham for the past 60 years. She was employed as a telephone operator first by Southern New England Telephone and then by the State of Connecticut at the Norwich State Hospital, from which she retired. She is survived by three children, Judith Ferrigno of North Woodstock, John Ferrigno of Willimantic and Tracy Lee and her husband Tom of Lebanon, two beloved grandchildren, Amanda and Jared Lee, a brother, William Carney and his wife Janice of Lebanon, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Irene Schmeelk, Ruth Pray, Ella Laidley and Hattie Greene. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd., Lebanon. There are no calling hours. Edith's family would like to thank those responsible for providing her with comfort and care during her final days, Kathy Murphy and Barry Morgan, her caregiver, Mary Lou Bonnette and her Hospice Team, especially Ann, Ruth, Tina and Tom.
