Douglas Mccarthy

Douglas McCarthy, 71, of Coventry died suddenly Tuesday, February 9,2016 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary-Alice (Sullivan) McCarthy of Coventry. Douglas was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 17, 1944, the son of late Ridley and Isabelle (McArthur) McCarthy. A graduate of New York Institute of Technology, he had worked at Hamilton Standard and retired from Electric Boat as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed reading, model rail roads, photography and puttering around his workshop and hobby farm. Douglas will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor. There are no calling hours and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to a charity of your choice.
