Dorothy A. (Trefry) Maloney, 91, of Storrs, CT, died Monday October 20, 2014. Dorothy was born in Boston in 1923, the daughter of John and Florence Trefry of Dorchester, MA. Dorothy was the widow of Francis H. Maloney. She is survived by her children: Deborah Dahill and her husband, Michael, of Mattapoisett, MA., Francis H. Maloney and Laurie Cacace, of Madison, CT., John Maloney of Storrs, Barbara Maloney and James Berger, of Storrs, Judith Niland and husband, Joseph, of Lititz, PA., Nancy Stanford and husband, Jonathan, of Willington, and Patricia Welch and husband, Leonard, of Berlin. She was predeceased by her son, Edward. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Michael Dahill of Mattapoisett, MA., Brendon Dahill of Portland, ME., Peter Dahill of Bermuda, Francis H. Maloney of Deep River, Jennifer Maloney of Raleigh, NC, Melissa Grindal of Stafford Springs, Erin Berger and Jamie Berger of Storrs, Kathryn Niland of Lancaster, PA., Catherine Stanford of Willington, and Daniel Welch of Berlin. Dorothy leaves three great grandchildren: Keira Dahill of Bermuda, and Amy Grindal and Ryan Grindal of Stafford Springs. Dorothy is survived by three sisters: Marietta Prosack of Sharon, MA, Lillian Hall of Norwood, MA, and Florence Clasby of Sevierville, TN., along with several nieces and nephews, as well as her Sister in Christ, Paula Power, of Quincy, MA. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers: William, Florence, John, Mildred, Michael, Francis, and Evelyn Trefry. The family will receive family and friends Friday, October 24th, 8:30am-9:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 46 North Eagleville Rd. in Storrs, on Friday, October 24th at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Storrs Cemetery, North Eagleville Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guiding Eyes For The Blind, www.guidingeyes.org , and Masonicare Home Health and Hospice.
