Dorothy May Brigham

from Potter F.H. 860-423-2211 Dorothy M. Brigham, 95, of Cedar Swamp Rd., Storrs, died Sunday Sept. 9, 2001 at home. She was born April 29, 1906 in Plainfield the daughter of Frederick N and Hattie E. (Phillips) Brigham. As a young woman, she worked with her parents for over 20 years operating the Little Wanderers Home in Coventry. She later worked at the Manchester Memorial Hospital for over 20 years in the Dietary Dept. and was also a longtime volunteer at the hospital with the auxiliary. Dorothy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Manchester and in Coventry. She resided with and was lovingly cared for by June and Steven Lyford and their children Steven Jr. and Adam of Storrs. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic , TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Her funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00am at the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, 55 Trowbridge Rd., Coventry, with the Rev. Brad Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the North Central Hospice, 8 Keynote Dr. Vernon, Ct. 06066.
