Dorothy M. Briggs

Dorothy M. Briggs, 87, of Willimantic, passed away on Sunday Feb 5, 2012 at Douglas Manor. She was born July 11, 1924 to Miles and Lela Finnemore in Caribou, ME. She was married to Vinal Briggs for 42 years. Dorothy retired from UCONN in 1987 and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Ladies of the Moose and the Auxiliary of the American Legion. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Brenda Fontanella of Brooklyn, CT, Sharon Golob and her husband Eugene of New Gloucester, ME, Earlene White of Colchester, CT and June Judd and her husband Robert of Rural Retreat of VA, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Vinal Briggs, sister Joyce Fisher and son-in-law Malcom White. There are no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service Thursday Feb. 9th at 11:00 am in New Willimantic Cemetery (intersection of Rte. 6 and Rte. 32) Willimantic.
