Dorothy Dunstan Bogan, 90, passed away peacefully on June 5. "Gram" as she was known by everyone, was born September 25, 1924 in Mansfield Center. Her parents, Lawrence and Gladys Dunstan, raised her and eight brothers and sisters. Gram was a fiercely independent woman who enjoyed life for her ninety years. She worked at Brand Rex in Willimantic for over 45 years. During her retirement, Gram frequented local bingo games, church, senior groups, and youth sports. She enjoyed taking care of herself by driving her cherished blue Ford to do her shopping. Gram was an avid Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball fan. Gram loved children, serving in the nursery at church all through her eighties and into her ninetieth year. She is survived by a brother, Ellery Dunstan and his wife Betty of Mansfield and a sister, Carolyn Burridge of Indian Orchard, Ma; and was predeceased by six siblings. Gram leaves her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Lin Bogan of Clearwater, Florida; her grandchildren Connie and Doug Fabian of Canterbury, Kim and Stan Rybarz of Jupiter, Florida, Ron and Terri Bogan II of Willimantic, and Michelle and Sean Smith of Willimantic. She also leaves her great grandchildren who she adored: Peter and Melody Fabian, Aaron and Leah Fabian, Robert Smith, Ty Fabian, Ryan Rybarz, Adam Rybarz, Aiden Smith, Derek Bogan, and Dominic Bogan. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She loved and enjoyed so many other special people, young and old, that called her Gram. She was the epitome of a simple, tough, happy and loving person. Gram's loving heart and gentle spirit will be missed by many. There will be a Memorial Service at Christian Fellowship Church, 140 Pudding Hill Rd, Scotland, CT on Monday, June 29 at 6:30pm.
