Doris Hart

Doris (Johnson) Hart, 93, of Willimantic, wife of the late Walter E. Hart, died Sunday morning, October 4, 2009 in Willimantic. She was born in New Bedford, MA and graduated from Plainfied, CT High School. While accompanying her parents while they looked for work in Adams, MA, she met her husband Walter Hart and began her own family. In 1958 she returned to Connecticut where she worked for a time at the former American Thread Company in Willimantic. After being laid off at the thread company she volunteered much of her time to the Salvation Army. She leaves four children, Beverly Royal of North Adams, MA, Walter R. Hart of Hebron, Patricia Trudeau of Storrs and James Hart of Maui, Hawaii, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army, 316 Pleasant St. Willimantic, CT 06226 or to any animal shelter.
