Doris Elliott, 77, of Willimantic, died Friday Feb. 25, 2005 at the Windham Hospital. She was born March 17, 1927 in Willimantic the daughter of George and Marie (Morin) Elliott. She attended St. Mary's School and Windham High School. Doris was well known as the organizer of "Dot's Red Dot's" team in the 1940's and 1950's bowling league at Frank Barber's Duck Pin Bowling Lanes on Main St. in Willimantic. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Doris retired from Electro-Motive after 30 years of employment. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Carl and Raymond Elliott both of Willimantic. She is survived by a brother, Robert Elliott Sr. of Willimantic, 5 sisters, Janet Matassa of Willimantic, Ruth Roy of N. Windham, Shirley Elliott of Putnam, Evelyn Menzone of Dudley, MA. and Edith Baronousky of Enfield; several nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Anne Gareau of Willimantic. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45 prior to her 9:30am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
