Doris C. Durand

Doris Durand, 69, of Mansfield Center daughter of Edwin and Celina Ellison passed away October 24, 2010 at St. Josephs Living Center surrounded by her close family. She was predeceased by her two children Stephen Plante, and Norma Simrell. Doris retired from Regency Heights after many years of service as a CNA. She enjoyed spending time at Misquamicut Beach and camping with her best friend Scooby Doo (her dog) and her great-granddaughter Alexis and having her girls only week at Cape Cod with Jazz and Ash. She leaves behind three brothers Jim Ellison and his wife Cindy, Paul and Ed and two sisters, Ellen and Fsaam. She also leaves two children, Deb Smith and Ed Plante and his wife, several grandchildren, Brandi Saucier, Shannon Shea, Jennifer Plante, Levi Saucier, Sean Plante, Heather Plante, Ashley Plante, Jazmyn Bartlett (Poopie-Doo) and Zachary Simrell, great-grandchildren Alexis Moore, Alex Brown, Arianna Hignett, Tristen Stead and Hailey Quick and her close extended family. Her family will receive friends and relatives at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday, October 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
