Doris Cecile (McClure) Chaput, 89, of Willimantic, died Friday Feb. 17, 2012 at Douglas Manor, Windham. She was born on May 28, 1922 in Willimantic the daughter of the late Yvonne (Vertefeuille) and George McClure Sr. Doris was a lifelong resident of Willimantic and was married for sixty-two years to the late Raymond Chaput Sr. She was predeceased by her son Norman Chaput, brother George McClure Jr. and sister Colleen Shepherd. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Jr. and Roland and his wife Donna; daughter Linda Ryan, sisters Germaine LaBoy, Lorraine Rovozzo and Blanche "Honey" Michaels who resides in Florida; brother Maurice McClure, three grandchildren, Wendy Kozlak, Chad Chaput and Holly Jurcik; four great grandchildren, Krystelle, Dylan, Amanda and CJ and a great great granddaughter Kalin. Doris was a member of the American Legion Woman's Auxiliary. She was a lifelong homemaker, very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her enlarging family and making sure everyone was well fed, loved and cared for. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday Feb. 21st between 4:00 and 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
