Donald M. Burdick of Windham, CT born July 28, 1921, died on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Windham Hospital. He was born in Willimantic the son of the late Charles N. and Margret Burdick. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Burdick. He leaves a son Kenneth Burdick and his wife Marie, a daughter Marion and her husband George William Tabor, a sister Dorothy Ziegler and two grandchildren, Jennifer Hull and Karyn Tabor and many nieces and nephews. A WW II veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, he served with the 14th Armored Division in France, Italy and Germany. He held management positions with the former Deary Bros. Dairy of Webster Mass. and Guida Dairy. The family would like to thank the staff and clinical team of Windham Memorial Hospital for their compassionate and attentive care to Donald. Selflessly giving, he loved to help out family and friends. No more was this exemplified then in his faithful dedication as a Hospice of Eastern Ct. volunteer. He will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Hospice of Eastern Ct. 34 Ledgebrook Dr. Mansfield Center, Ct. 06250. His family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Services and burial will be private in New Willimantic Cemetery.
