Donald Fitzgerald Obituary
Donald E. Fitzgerald, 90, of Willimantic, CT passed away on September 19, 2023. He was born in Brooklyn, CT, the son of the late Edward and Alina (Boucher) Fitzgerald.
Donald was a graduate of Windham High School. He worked as a laborer, retiring from Paradise Farms. He lived in Hampton, Chaplin, and Lebanon before moving to Willimantic residing in the Card Home, where he truly enjoyed living. Donald was a member of the Hampton Fire Co. and the French Club. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo at the Card Home.
He is survived by his daughter Janice Jacobsen and her husband Daniel, sons Gary Fitzgerald and his wife Joyce and Todd Fitzgerald and his wife Dawn, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, sister Kathleen Fitzgerald and brother Paul Fitzgerald and his wife Debbie. Donald was predeceased by both wives, Marilyn A. Fitzgerald and Madeline Fitzgerald and his brother Norman Fitzgerald.
There are no calling hours. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with his burial following at South Chaplin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Card Home, 154 Pleasant St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
