Donald M. Donofrio, 63, of Chaplin, husband of Marcia (Possardt) Donofrio, died suddenly and unexpectedly, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Windham Hospital. He was born September 11, 1944 in Meriden, the son of the late Michael and Olga (Olyarcik) Donofrio and had lived in Chaplin for the past 19 years. Donald was actively involved in Chaplin politics and had served as a Selectman. He was self employed for many years as a general contractor/property manager. Donald had studied the art of Healing as was a former instructor at The Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences in Bloomfield. In addition to his wife of 36 years he is survived by three children, Jessica Donofrio, Taylor Donofrio and Joanna Donofrio, all of Chaplin, a sister, Maryann Manzara of Waterbury, many nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
