Donald Bocash Obituary
Donald W. Bocash, 94, husband of the late Edmerine (Berube) Bocash, of Columbia, CT passed away on January 10, 2023. He was born in Richford, VT, the son of the late Donald K. and Mary E. Bocash.
Donald was a resident of Columbia since 1955 and a member of St. Columba’s Church. He was employed for over 26 years at Finast Supermarket before his retirement in 1976. Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran; he was wounded in the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home, he joined the VFW. He was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
He is survived by his son Mark E. Bocash and his partner Keith Gnoza of Boston, MA and his dear friend and companion Marie Lambert of Columbia, CT, his in-laws Bernice Lessard, Reed and Verna Berube, Stephen and Maggie Berube, Eugene Ayotte all of East Hartford, CT, Everett and Barbara Berube of Willimantic, CT, Mae Steg and Alan Cate of Bradenton, FL, Linda and Jose Feliciano of Windham, CT, Louella Spinelli of Wallingford, CT, Gloria-Jean and Robert Bogue, John Berube of Columbia, CT and and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his son Keith J. Bocash and his friend and companion of 25 years Germaine Laboy of Willimantic.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 46 Valley St. Willimantic with his burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. in Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
