Donald E. Ackley

Donald E. Ackley, 76, of Mansfield, beloved husband of nearly 50 years of Harriet (McDaniels) Ackley, died Friday evening Jan. 4, 2008 at Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag, R.I. He was born April 13, 1931 in Lisbon Falls, ME. Donald had been employed by the Town of Mansfield for many years in the Highway Dept. and at the landfill. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of Mansfield VFW. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his sister Bertha Staffhorst of Willimantic, a niece, a nephew and a very special friend Dan Austin of Mansfield. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday Jan. 8th at 11:00am in Hillside Cemetery, Spring Hill Rd., Storrs.
