Dimitri Andrews Jr., 81, of Lebanon, husband of the late Lillian (Hines) Andrews, died Saturday November 22, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born April 7, 1922 in Lebanon, the son of Dimitri and Anna (Swilka) Andrews Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Lebanon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Andrews owned and operated a sawmill in Lebanon and was the first man permitted to log in the Yale Forrest. He is survived by 4 children, Charles Andrews of Columbia, Andrew Andrews and his wife Sherry of Lebanon, Violet Andrews of Vernon, Robert Andrews and his wife Rosemary of Lebanon, 2 brothers, John Andrews of Lebanon, Steve Andrews of Willimantic, 2 sisters, Stella Desrosiers of Willimantic, Lorraine Andrews of Lebanon, 2 stepsisters, Anna Cota of Elmira, NY, Katherine Lesi of Cromwell, 5 grandchildren, A.J., Kate, Ethan, Bobbi-Jo and Timothy Andrews, many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Andrews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services with military honors will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd. Lebanon.
