Denise G. Beal, 57, of Mansfield Center, wife of Michael Beal, passed away on Sunday January 12, 2014. She was born January 2, 1957 in Meriden. Denise graduated from the University of CT in 1981 with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Denise was an accomplished cellist , performing with The Wallingford Symphony for a number of years. Her career with the Department of Dining Services spanned 32 years. She retired as Assist. Director of Dining Services and leaves many friends and associates at UCONN. Denise loved to travel with her husband and together they spent many months exploring the Caribbean and Central America. She also loved to garden, pursue her interest in fine food, world music, jazz and reggae. Denise will be remembered for her wonderful laughter, always loving life, and her commitment to family and friends. Denise is one of the good ones and all who knew her would agree, she was special. Denise was predeceased by her parents, stepmother and her dear brother, Dennis Godburn. She is survived by her husband, step brothers and sisters, in-laws, and her precious nieces Amanda and Julia and many very dear friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join family between 5:00 and 7:00pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. A private family interment will be held this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society,
