Delton Vincent Dunnack Sr. 89, of Andover, CT. passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 4th. 2015 surrounded by family and overlooking Andover Lake. Born in Mansfield, CT. to William Dunnack and Dorothy Snow Dunnack he was one of 11 brothers and sisters. He served in World War II as a paratrooper in Japan and the Philippines. After the war Delton traveled the country playing professional baseball in the AA minor leagues where he met the love of his life, the late Emma Louise Belanger in New Iberia, La. They married and had one son, the late Delton "Buzz" Dunnack Jr. Delton is survived by his sister Lillian Mason of Tolland; grandson Chad Dunnack of Willimantic; granddaughter Nova Dunnack of Cocoa Beach, FL; Grandson Lee Dunnack of Willimantic; Granddaughter Lindsay Hinckley of Mystic and grandson Alexander Dunnack of Willimantic. He also leaves many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his love of sports, his compassion and sense of humor. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Columbia Congregational Church at 325, Route 87, in Columbia CT. Burial will follow at the Townsend Cemetery, on Townsend Road, Andover, CT. In lieu of flowers please donate toward the Andover little league. "See you 'round like a donut!"
