Delsie May Edwards

Delsie May (Sage) Edwards, 89, of Columbia, widow of Ralph Edwards Sr., died Tuesday March 22, 2005 at Haven Health Center in Willimantic. She was born Aug. 10, 1915 in Windham the daughter of the late Harvey and Una (Dougal) Sage and resided in the Willimantic/Columbia area for most of her life. Delsie enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and baby sitting. She was a caregiver not only to her family but to other s children as well. She was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Smith, 2 sons, Ralph Edwards Jr. and Frank Edwards; and all of her siblings. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, a son in law Nyle Smith Sr. of Columbia, a daughter in law Janice Edwards of Hampton and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:30pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with burial following in the West St. Cemetery, Columbia. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 220 Valley St. Willimantic, CT. 06226 or to Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley St. Willimantic, Ct. 06226.
