Deborah Marks Obituary
Deborah K. (Messier) Marks, 59, of Woodstock Valley, wife of Gordon S. Marks, died Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Evashowsky) Messier. Deborah worked for many years as a CNA at several local nursing homes, where she was loved by all she cared for. She was a beautiful person, with a huge heart. She loved her family, friends and everyone she came in contact with. Deborah enjoyed going on walks, listening to music, gardening, arranging flowers, meditating and praying.
In addition to her husband, Gordon, she is survived by three sons, Vance Vagell and his husband Raymond, Quincy Vagell and Spencer Vagell; two brothers, Edward Messier Jr. and his wife Kathy and Thomas Messier; a sister in law Valerie Bhat; two nephews and two nieces, Anthony Messier Jr. and his wife Danielle, Mary Braden and her husband Jeremiah, Kelly Messier and her partner Missy Jones and Edward Messier; Deborah had many family members that she loved and cherished, Mary Whaley, Diane Turhune, Debbie Foisey, Linda Greger, Carol Kozelka, Joyce Evashowsky and Jeanette Evashowsky and to all the other family members she loved. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Messier and Anthony Messier Sr., a sister, Margaret Messier and two cousins, Robert and William Evashowsky.
Deborah’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am.
