Dean J. Lachappelle

February 20, 1969 — June 7, 2015

Dean J. LaChappelle, 46, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2015 at Windham Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1969 in Willimantic, CT. Dean enjoyed fishing on his boat with his father, spending time with his friends and going to the Daytona 500. He had a passion for anything with an engine but his pride and joy was his "65" Chevelle SS 327 that was passed down to him by his father. Most of all, his heart and soul was with his son, Dean LaChappelle II, who survives him. He loved watching him race motorcycles and teaching him to work on cars. They had a father-son bond that could never be broken and will always be his #1. He is also survived by his father Joseph LaChapelle, who was his best friend; his mother Geraldine Desrosiers, who always made his favorite stuffed peppers; his sister Dawn (LaChappelle) Fortier, who loved her big brother dearly; his brother-in-law Walter Fortier, who he loved to arm wrestle with; a nephew Kyle Fortier and two nieces, Kayla and Karli Fortier, who meant the world to him; a very special Aunt, Janet Perigo and Uncle Larry Perigo from Parkman, ME; several cousins and many friends. Dean will be greatly missed by his son and all who knew him. A special thanks to Hospice and his friends and family for their love and support during his final days. Dean's favorite quote was "Live Like You Were Dying" and he did just that. There will be no services at this time. Memorial Contributions can be made to "The Dean LaChappelle Memorial Fund" at the Savings Institute Bank and Trust, 115 Main St., Hebron, CT 06248.
