David V. Samuels Jr., 58, of Coventry, husband of Sharon (Tilton) Samuels, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. He was born June 13, 1945 in Windham, the son of the late David and Eva (Kennison) Samuels Sr. and had lived in Coventry for the past 25 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. Mr. Samuels was a member of the Baptist Fellowship in Columbia and was formerly active as a Scoutmaster and Boy Scout Commissioner. In addition to his wife he is survived by 5 children, Jennifer Macha of Columbia, Jessica Samuels, Henry Samuels and Joshua Samuels, all of Coventry, Matthew Samuels of Columbia, his mother-in-law, Lucy Tilton of Coventry, 5 sisters, Audrey Green of Lebanon, June Gamache of Windham, Gerry Thompson of Storrs, Sheila Roberts of Union, Mildred Jones of Storrs, a brother, Albert Samuels of Mansfield, 4 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Eva Merrill. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte.195, Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Baptist Fellowship, 195 Rte. 6, Columbia. Burial will follow in the New Coventry Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
