David Peter Poirier, 40, of Franklin, formerly of Willington, died on Friday April 4, 2003 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 24, 1963 in Hartford the son of Emile and Sylvia (Tedford) Poirier of Willington. David worked and volunteered at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford and had been active in the Special Olympics activities. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 brothers; Donald Poirier and his wife Kim Page of Eastford, Roger Poirier and his wife Priscilla of Stafford and Richard Poirier and his wife Carolyn of Belchertown, MA., 7 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his loving companion Joyce Cassidy. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Jude Church, Old Farms Rd., Willington, with burial following in the Willington Hill Cemetery.
