David W. Pitcher III, 67, of Lebanon, husband of Barbara (Perry) Pitcher, died Sunday August 4, 2002 at home. He was born September 26, 1934 in Lebanon, the son of David and Elizabeth (Brewster) Pitcher II and was a lifelong resident of Lebanon and a graduate of Lyman Memorial High School. He was a member of the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years and was a longtime member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge and the American Legion. Mr. Pitcher was employed as a truck driver throughout his life working for Blue Slope Farm for the past 20 years. He was well known around town as an accomplished pig roaster. In addition to his wife whom he married September 10, 1960 he is survived by a daughter, Karen Marinaccio of Enfield, 3 grandchildren, Justina, Amber and Timothy Marinaccio, a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Dan Lappie of Port St. Lucie, FL, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Young. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon with the Reverend Sharon Ledbetter officiating.
