David W. Mott

David W. Mott Sr., 70, of Chaplin, CT, husband of Sherrill (Remsen) Mott, died surrounded by his family Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. He was born February 14, 1947 in Willimantic, CT the son of the late Woodrow and Jeanne (MacWay) Mott. David proudly served in the United States Army. He was Owner/Operator of Mott General Construction in Chaplin for over 46 years. He enjoyed family, fishing, working, travelling, Nascar, football and coin collecting. He will be forever in our hearts. He is predeceased by a brother Christopher Mott. Along with his wife Sherrill, David is survived by his two daughters and three sons, Kristine (Ely) Jones and husband Kevin of Windham, Mandy Mott of Enfield, Scott Ferguson and partner Amber Dulik of Maryland, Shaune Ferguson and wife Cristina of Nevada, David Mott Jr. and fianc? Nicole DeGrasse of Norwich. He is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren Mandy Drouin and fianc? Oscar Alvarado, Kelly Drouin and partner Jason Durr, Justin Drouin and wife Bora, Christopher Drouin and wife Annaka, Shannen Yorgensen and husband Nathaniel, Kyrstin, Madison, Olivia Mott, Julia and Brandon Phouangphiarith, Amber Olsen, and 7 loving great-grandchildren Isaiah, Nicholas, Bella, Skyleen Mariah, Jude and Jonah. He also leaves a brother Larry Mott and wife Tina of Mansfield, as well as two nieces Rebecca Albert and Kelly Mott. David is survived by his beloved dog companion Rocky. Calling Hours will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. Burial Service with military honors will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., New Willimantic Cemetery on Rte. 32, Willimantic CT.
