David J. McCall, 80, of South Windham, husband of Beverly (Morgan) McCall, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2016 surrounded by family at Hartford Hospital. He was born November 14, 1936, the son of the late James and Mable (Bugbee) McCall. David joined the USMC in 1954. After his military service, he traveled the country while driving tractor trailer over the road for almost fifty years. After retiring, he spent much of his time riding his peddle bike and playing golf. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and other groups and organizations. His love for God was inspiring. His outgoing personality was heartwarming. His laughter infectious, and his love for life was pure. In addition to his wife Beverly of four years, he is survived by two daughters; Mary Ellen Eddy and her husband Reuben and their children and Pam Sallee and her children. He was predeceased by his former wife of 40 years, Virginia McCall and his son Shawn McCall. You will be truly missed and we love you always Papa. David?s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday December 1, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday December 2, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, with assembly at Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
