David Ferbrache

David Ferbrache, 78, of Columbia, CT passed away at home on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was born January 19, 1940 in Coshocton, OH, son of the late Thomas D Ferbrache and Katharine B Ferbrache. A lifelong learner with formal studies in philosophy, American literature, mathematics and computer science, David was an educator whose teaching career spanned classes at Conotton Valley High School in Ohio, Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA and Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, CT. Ever inquisitive, David enjoyed crossword puzzles, puns and word play, World War II history, the blues, paintings by Bruegel the Elder and a good meal especially eating lobster with his brother. He loved contemplating panoramic views in all weather and all seasons. Favorites were the Casco Bay from Bailey Island, ME and the Rio Grande River near Taos, NM. David will be greatly missed by Linda his beloved wife of 37 years, his niece Cristin Schwanke and his nephew Michael Ferbrache. He was predeceased by his brother Stuart B Ferbrache. Heartfelt thanks to Paul Coogan of Hammerhead Health for keeping David active over the years and to Lauren Carrara for her exceptional care giving that always brightened David's day.
