David A. Cushman

David Alan Cushman, 66, of Willington, CT, beloved husband of Karen (Roy) Cushman passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Windham Hospital, Willimantic CT. He was the son of the late Harold and Mary Cushman. Dave attended schools in Willington, CT and was a graduate of Windham Technical High School; he was a Vietnam veteran and served in the US Army for 24 years, and he taught at Branford Hall Career Institute in Windsor, CT before his retirement. Dave is survived by his wife Karen, step children Robert Apted and his wife Jennifer; Paul Apted; Elizabeth Apted; step grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob, Jonah, Kylie, Casey and Brianna; he also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins in the area. Along with his parents, Dave was predeceased by his brother, Louis Cushman Sr. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Windham Hospital for their exceptional care and also Potter Funeral Home for their assistance. Animals were something Dave held dear to his heart; donations in remembrance of Dave may be made to C.A.T.S. Northeast, Inc., P.O. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring.
