Daniel W. Parker, beloved son, brother, husband and father, left our world and went with Jesus Christ Our Lord on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Dan was a 23 year veteran of the Army, United States Marine Corps and Connecticut National Guard. He was also a former Connecticut Department of Correction Officer, serving over 17 years. He demanded and received as well as gave respect when it was deserved and was one of few highly decorated Officers in the State of Connecticut. Born in Marquette, Michigan but raised on James Island in South Carolina, Dan is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wendy (Corcoran) Parker, his son, Daniel Warren Parker, Junior, his Mother and Father, James and Mary Parker of James Island, South Carolina, his treasured sister, Theresa Parker Bennett and her family also from James Island, his older brother James Parker and family living in Germany, his youngest brother Randall Parker and his family from Marquette Michigan, many nieces and nephews and many loved Aunts, Uncles, cousins and blessed friends who knew and respected him. Dan cherished his friends and family and bestowed nicknames upon them as was his habit. He will be missed by many. His family will receive relatives and friends on July 5, 2014 between 10:00 and 11:00am with a service beginning at 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.
