Windham-Daniel Patrick Donahue passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was born March 27, 1927 to Bertha and Patrick Donahue. Dan left high school to serve in the Navy during World War II, and was honorably discharged in July 1946. Due to his military service, in June of 2001, Dan was awarded his High School diploma. Dan spent his entire career in the automobile industry. First for Arthur Roy of Roy Motors which later became Bunnell Buick. After Bunnell Buick closed he worked for Gem Chevrolet. Dan's passion for selling Buicks took him to Wile Motors where he completed his selling career. In his retirement Dan continued to work for Andy Wile as a runner, serving his many friends in the auto industry. Dan was an avid winter enthusiast. He hiked and skied some of the greatest mountain venues in America, which brought him tremendous joy. Dan was a member of the Elks his entire life, serving as chair of the Memorial Committee for 50 years. Dan is survived by his wife of 65 years Constance Mazzola Donahue. Three sons Jeffrey, Kevin, James and his wife Darla. Grandchildren Timothy Donahue, Kelly Piro-Donahue, and her husband Andrew. His sister Margaret Donahue and her two daughters Nancy and Claire. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rt 195) Willimantic, CT. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Windham, CT.
