Dana E. Barrow Sr., 83 of Ellington died peacefully on Thursday morning, May 5, 2016 at Woodlake in Tolland, CT. Born on June 6, 1932 in Houlton, ME., he is the son of the late James and Stella (Chase) Barrow. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Nannie L (Mosier) Barrow. Dana worked in the Aerospace Industry as an experimental test supervisor. He was employed by Hamilton Standard and Chandler Evans, retiring in 1992. He served in the US Army in the 11th Airborne during the Korean conflict. Dana loved going to car shows and showing his 1931 Chevy Roaster and 1957 Chevy Bel Aire. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family outings, especially camping Memorial weekend with his children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren. Dana was well liked and known for his willingness to help people at any time. He had the rare ability to use common sense to help out with his family?s issues without interfering. He is survived by his daughter, Linda L. Rodenbaugh and her husband Rick of West Hartland; his son Dana E. Barrow, Jr. of Scotland; grandchildren, Kristina (Hickton) Wagner and husband Lonnie of Manchester, NH, Pamela Hickton and her significant other Scott Fregeau of East Hampton,?Dana E. Barrow III of Mansfield,?Kevin Barrow and longtime significant other Brynn Lipstreu, of Scotland,?Cassie Barrow and significant other Colin Hall of Windham, Brittany Szur and Mercedes Szur of West Hartland, Jessie Barrow and Sienna Barrow of Scotland; Great Grandchildren, Dana IV, McKenzie and Bryan Barrow of Plainfield, Spencer Hall of Windham and Emily Barrow of Scotland; brothers, George Barrow and Donald Barrow both of Houlton, ME. He is predeceased by four sisters, Virginia Skehan, Ruth Toner, Joyce Scruggs, Gertrude Barrow and five brothers, Perley, Lee, Glenwood, Robert and Ronald. Services will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, CT 06226. Calling hours are Monday, May 9th, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Funeral services are at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Scotland Cemetery. Reverend Don Rivers will be officiating.
