Crawford W. "Hank" Marley II, 81, of North Windham, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015, peacefully at home surrounded by his children. He was born April 29, 1934 in Smyrna Mills, Maine to Benjamin T and Shirley (Ingalls) Marley Sr. After being raised on a farm in Maine, he moved to Connecticut at the age of 18 and got a job with the E. H. Coca-Cola Plant. Hank retired as a supervisor in the warehouse with 39 years of service. While working there, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956 and served as an Armored Track Vehicle Mechanic, where he was honorable discharge in 1962 with the rank of SPC4. While on leave for his dad's funeral, he meet Barbara Nichols at Shady Glens in Manchester, they wrote to each other and when he finished his active duty, returned home and they were married on Sept. 5, 1959. Dad enjoyed riding his Harley and later in life enjoyed his riding mower, when he wasn't watching the "Walton's" or "Matlock". Being a 19 year cancer survivor, many people called him the "Man of Steel" "Build Ford Tough". In the early morning hours dad enjoyed listened to the word of God being preached. Dad's faith in God was his true source of strength. Besides his five children, Vianne Bonczek of N. Windham, Crawford Marley III and his wife Ruth of Ashford, Dana Marley of Willimantic, Brian Marley of N. Windham and Teressa Marley of N. Windham; a brother, Benjamin and his wife Betty Marley, a sister-in-law Paula Jean and her husband Erwin Stapel, brother in law Clarence Nichols Jr. and his wife Lesia; grandchildren Jordan Dore, Josh Dougenik and Nicole Carrow, a nieces and nephews Christine, Leonard and Ted Marley and his wife Laura, Kimberly McCall and her husband Scott and Edyn Musselman and her husband Matthew. Hank is pre-deceased by his wife Barbara, whom passed away 29 years ago to the day of his own passing. Proving they were True Soulmates. He was a kind and giving man, whom loved his family, was respected and admired by all who knew him. Dad you are our rock, your lessons of life will be forever instilled in our Hearts and Minds. We were blessed to have you as a Father and Friend. We Love you and will miss you but look forward to meeting again in Heaven. The family will have a Celebration of Life for family and friends on November 8, 2015 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the family residence 69 Circle Drive, North Windham, CT.
