Corinne C. Culpin, of Coventry, widow of Richard Culpin, died Friday December 21, 2001 at the Windham Hospital. She was born June 8, 1926 in Van Buren, ME, the daughter of John and Edith (Cote) LaPlante and had lived in Coventry most of her life. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years in the Food Services Department at UCONN. She and her husband were former members of the Windham Whirlers. Mrs. Culpin was member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1116, the American Legion Auxiliary of Coventry, the Coventry Senior Citizen Club and the McSweeney Regional Senior Center. She is survived by 2 children and their spouses, Carol and Clayton Hodgkins of Lebanon, John and Joan Culpin of Lebanon, a sister, Lorraine Bunker of Vernon, a brother, Leo LaPlante of East Hartford, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Brian and Danielle Culpin, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Emile LaPlante, Ida Brown and Yvonne DePerry. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 29th at 11 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Coventry, 1171 Main St. Coventry, CT 06238.
