Coral-Ann Pompeii Obituary
Coral Ann Pompeii passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on November 1, 1938, to the late Delmar and Gladys Potter. She grew up in Coventry, eventually residing in Columbia with her family. Coral was a proud graduate of Windham High School. Her career was marked by years of dedicated service at NCCI, from which she retired, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and camaraderie. She leaves behind her beloved son Gerald Pompeii Jr. of Columbia, daughter Cynthia Cox and husband Ray, granddaughter Jessie Sholes and husband Don, great-grandchildren Donald, Zachary, Dylan and Ella Sholes. Being a grandmother is a role she adored with every ounce of her being. She is predeceased by her brother Delmar “Bud” Potter.
An avid crafter, Coral found joy and purpose in all of her meticulous creations, from painting to quilting. She loved to bake and her Easter rolls, whoopie pies, apple pies and strawberry shortcake will always be remembered. Coral loved to collect many things, but her porcelain dolls were her most prized possession. She took great pride in decorating her home. If you knew Coral, you knew how much she loved Elvis Presley. She was singing his songs right up until the end.
As we bid farewell to Coral Ann Pompeii, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many with her radiant heart and creative spirit. She will be profoundly missed. A graveside service will be held on Monday October 7th at 11:00am at New Willimantic Cemetary 1774 W Main Street, Willimantic, CT 06226.
