Cora (Dorr) Ware, 84 years old died peacefully at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs. She has gone home to be with Jesus which she has wished for the past three years. She was predeceased by her parents; Capt. Edgar and Christina Dorr and her husband Norman P. Ware. She was born in Rockland, ME and married Norman in Rockland. She resided there till they moved to Worcester, MA. Her first two born children, Christine Bobrek of Norwich and David Ware of Franklin, CT were both born in Maine. When she moved to Worcester she had twins, Vincent Ware of Vineland, NJ and Gail Zaicek of Ashford, CT. Her fifth child was born during a hurricane in Worcester, Marie Herbert of N. Stonington, CT which led the family to move to Oxford, MA. Then she had her sixth child during a blizzard, a son, Edgar Ware of Moosup, CT. The family moved to Jewett City and they resided there for twenty years. Cora and her husband retired to Homosassa and Inverness, Florida and lived there for twenty years. The past three years she lived with her daughter and son in-law Robert and Gail Zaicek. She was also cared for by her granddaughter Rachael and husband Jeremiah Macht of Ashford, CT. She had 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great- great grandchildren. She leaves behind four brothers, Capt. Edgar Will Dorr, St. Augustine, FL; David Dorr of Lincolnville, ME, Talbot Dorr of Long Island, NY, Rev. Nelson Dorr of Arizona and her brother Rev. Luke Dorr was predeceased. Cora had a very nurturing way about her which led her to be a Nurses' aide after her children all left the roost. For many years she was a Home Health Aide and cared for the elderly in their homes. A memorial celebration will be held at Columbia Baptist Fellowship, Rte 6, Columbia, CT. on Saturday July 10, 2010 at 11:00am.
