Constance Roy Obituary
Constance Alexandrina Roy, affectionately known as Connie, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Brooklyn, Connecticut, due to complications from dementia. Born on December 5, 1933, in Putnam, Connecticut

Connie's life was marked by her passionate, generous, and kind spirit.  She was a graduate of Killingly High School, where she laid the foundations of a lifetime of learning and personal growth. She carried these values throughout her life, always seeking to better herself and the lives of those around her. After graduation, Connie spent time raising her family and dedicated herself to a career of service, becoming a well-loved and respected supervisor at Mansfield State Training School. Her tenure there spanned from the late 1960s until her retirement in 1990. Connie's leadership and compassion made a lasting impact on both her colleagues and those she served, and her legacy within the institution is still remembered fondly.

Connie's life was rich with interests that brought joy to her and those she loved. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, whether it was a day at the beach, traveling to new places, sleepovers with the grandkids or simply enjoying a good book. Her home was a reflection of her love for decorating, and she took great pleasure in creating a warm and inviting space for all who entered. Connie's commitment to her community was evident in her volunteering efforts, where she contributed her time and energy to make a difference.

Family was the cornerstone of Connie's life. She is survived by her loving children, Donna Mansolillo and her husband Vincent, Deborah Ricard, Thomas Paine, Holly Weston and her husband RJ; her stepchildren, Kathy Goodrich, Philippe Roy Junior, James Roy, Nancy Roy, Mary Wendus, Elizabeth Petti; and her cherished 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Connie also leaves behind her dear sister Jeanne Weaver and her brother David Faford. She was predeceased by her second husband, Philippe Andre Roy, her first husband, Oliver Meredith Paine, and her dear sisters Theresa Lemaire, Muriel (Slover) Desrosier, and Elaine Ives.

Connie's life philosophy could be summed up by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Connie truly embodied this sentiment, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

As we remember Connie, we celebrate a life lived with unbridled passion and generosity. Her kindness extended beyond her immediate circle, touching the lives of many. She was a beacon of love and warmth, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her. Connie's journey through life was a testament to the power of a kind heart and a generous spirit. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the knowledge that her legacy will live on through the countless lives she has touched. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
