Concetta "Connie" Mauri

May 30, 1937 — December 2, 2014

Concetta (Connie) Mauri died suddenly on December 2, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank, her daughter Cheryl Hunter and husband Stephen, and her granddaughter Audrey Hunter. She is predeceased by her parents Philomena and Cesare Tamburrino. In addition she is survived by her brothers Rudolph Tamburrino and Cesare Tamburrino, and sisters Frances Dorso, MaryAnn Bossio, and JoMarie Tamburrino. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a long time employee of the J C Penney Corporation working as a shoe salesperson in stores throughout the United States. She was an active member of Fin Fur and Feather Club in Chaplin, Connecticut where she was an avid fisherwoman and ran the field kitchen during the many skeet and trap events at the club. She enjoyed attending skeet shoots with her husband and daughter across New England and the US, and she had many friends in the skeet shooting community. She and Frank were elected to the Connecticut Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame in 2012. She loved selling at craft shows and tag sales cross the state as well. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. There will be a viewing from 9:00am to 10:00am at the funeral home prior to her Funeral Mass on Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Ashford at 11:00am with burial to follow at St. Philip's Cemetery, Ashford.
