Colby "GG" (Chamberlin) Melanec, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, in Windham, CT. Born on October 26, 1920, in Willimantic, CT, she was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of strength and love to her family.

GG was a dedicated employee of United Technology Pratt & Whitney Division, where she retired after thirty-five years of service. Her work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew her. She was a woman of great character, whose resilience and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

On July 11, 1943, GG married the love of her life, Walter Melanec, at the Franklin Congregation Church. Their love story was one of enduring devotion and mutual respect. GG's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Manning and her husband Christopher, grandchildren Wayne Manning and Wendy Diehl, great-granddaughter Amber Diehl, sister Louise Breault, and numerous nieces and nephews.

GG was predeceased by her husband Walter Melanec, parents Ernest and Annie (Wynne) Chamberlin, sisters Eunice Spicer, Thelma Megeski, Elizabeth Barr, and Florence Smith, and brothers Ernest, Leo, and Eugene Chamberlin. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. GG's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed.

Her family would like to thank St. Joseph Living Center for the love and care they provided during her stay.

Burial will be at the convenience of her family.
