Clinton Rossiter, Jr. Obituary
Clinton Lawrence Rossiter, Jr., died on Sunday, 13 December 2020.  He was born in New York on 7 August 1931 to Clinton Lawrence Rossiter, Sr., and Helen Virginia Lucas Rossiter.  Clint had been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for many years.  His wife, who had been caring for him at home, was with him when he died.

A United States Air Force Pilot in the Korean War, Clint flew the iconic F-86 Sabre Jets with the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing.  His military service also included several years in the Air Training Command.  In his later life, he was a Safety Engineer and, then, following that career, he worked for the United States Postal Service.

Clint was an honors’ graduate of Westminster School, Preparatory School, Simsbury, Connecticut, and of the University of Connecticut, Storrs, where he studied Geology.  Following his Westminster graduation, Clint attended Cornell University where he was, as were other relatives, a member of the Sigma Phi Greek Fraternity.  He was devoted to scientific ideas, relishing scientific writings and documentaries.  He also loved the Dutch late 17th Century and the American 19th Century landscape paintings, visiting museums in America, England, and Europe.

A long-time Parishioner of St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel, Storrs, Connecticut, he enjoyed several ministries, particularly the Men’s Breakfasts and the Wednesday Eucharists.

Loving the natural world, flora and fauna, Clint wanted his ashes to go back to nature in the woods that he and his wife had walked for many years with their German Shepherds.

Clint is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Barbara Worff Rossiter; his son, Clinton Lawrence Rossiter IV and daughter-in-law, Lana Michele Rossiter, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; his daughter, Virginia Lorene Rossiter-Valvo, of Asheville, North Carolina; and his granddaughter, Dante Gabriella Valvo, of Denver, Colorado.
