Clayton R. Blay, of Scotland, CT, passed away on April 15, 2016, the husband of the late Ruth (Garthwaite) Blay. Born in Salem, Vermont, the son of William Blay and Charlotte (Waterman) Blay. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII in the Pacific Theater with the 22nd Infantry and in the special forces at Guadalcanal Bougainville and Guam. He worked as a driver for Brick Top Laundry and as a custodian at Linden College in Vermont. He leaves behind his caretaker?s, granddaughter Lisa McGuire of Hampton, and stepdaughter in-law Barbara Drum, as well as stepsons John Drum and his wife Dawn of Lebanon, and Ronald Drum and his wife Barbara also of Lebanon, and stepdaughter in-law Susan Drum of East Hampton, as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren, and four daughters. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his first wife Ida (Doucette) Blay and three stepsons, Richard, Francis, and Russell Drum, also one sister and three brothers. Services will be Monday, April 18, 2016?at 2:30 p.m. at the New Lebanon Cemetery.
