Clara M. Firestone

Clara (Mittelsdorf) Firestone, 81, of Mansfield Center, passed away quietly on Tuesday (November 29, 2011) at the Windham Hospital. She was born in Orange, New Jersey on August 23, 1930, a daughter of the late George and Helen (Stone) Mittelsdorf, and was formerly of Murphy, Texas, where she resided for over 25 years. Clara was an avid breeder of Golden Retrievers and was active at the national level and in the Western Region of the Golden Retriever Club of America. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Arthur Gustave Firestone. She is survived by her sister, Janet (Mittelsdorf) Lumsden and her husband, Donald; her daughter, Barbara (Firestone) Becker of Ashford CT and her husband William, son James A. of Greenwich CT and his wife Ann, and son William G. of Valencia CA and his wife Cathy; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
