Clara Amiote Bienvenue Cote, 87, of Windham, formerly of Baltic, widow of Clovis Cote, died Friday May 19, 2006 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born Nov. 28, 1918 in Webster MA. Clara began work in the Baltic textile mill at a very young age. In Baltic, she lived on High Street with her husband and two children. She later worked at the American Thread Company in Willimantic for many years as a spinner. In the late 1960s she began work as an Associate at the Mansfield State Training School where she received several accolades and awards for her fine work and service. After retiring from the Mansfield State Training School she worked as a volunteer at Windham Hospital and later became a full-time employee at the information desk, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. After leaving Windham Hospital she continued to reside at Stonegate Manor in North Windham until taking up residence at St. Joseph Living Center under the care of a dedicated, thoughtful, and loving staff. While at St. Joseph s she was known as a serious and dedicated bingo player. She was very appreciative of the excellent care that she received at St. Joseph Living Center, as are her sons. She is survived by 2 sons, Robert Ronald Cote of Hampton and Philip Cote and his wife Susan of Eugene, Oregon; and 4 grandchildren, Jesse Cote of Hampton, Jonathan Cote of Charlotte, N.C., Rebecca Cote of Los Angeles, CA. and Christopher Cote of Charlotte, N.C. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private with interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Baltic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd., Windham, CT. 06280. Arrangements through Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
