Claire M. Giordano

Claire M. (Boisvert) Giordano, 94, of Windham, CT, died peacefully on March 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Living Center. She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" P. Giordano, Sr. They lived in Mansfield, CT, and were married 67 years before his death in May 2010. Claire was born February 1, 1922, in Willimantic, CT, daughter of the late Donat and Angeline (Bibeau) Boisvert. Claire was employed at the American Thread before raising a family. Once her children grew up, she worked in Food Services at Edwin O. Smith High School and at UConn before retirement. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church of Willimantic. She was predeceased by her brothers: Aldor, Philip, Laurier "Larry", and Edward Boisvert; and sisters: Louise Simmons, Lucille Sentener, Evelyn Joly, Jeanette Puleo and Helen Boisvert. Claire is survived by daughter and son-in-law Diane and Anthony Prue of Windham Center, CT, son and daughter-in-law Richard P. Giordano, Jr. and Sandra of New Castle, PA, daughter and son-in-law Gail and Juan Montalvo of Windham Center, CT ; her grandchildren Kymberli Prue Gaylor, Kristin Prue Davis, Gina Giordano Santini, Gabriella Giordano Wilt, Richard P. Giordano III, Lindsay Montalvo McKenna, Larissa Montalvo; great-grandchildren Chance Davis, Bailey Gaylor, Emma, Adrienne, Aubrey and Donald Wilt, Luca and Giuliana Santini, Giovanni Giordano, Persephone McKenna ; as well as several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Dorothy Boisvert and brother-in-law Charles "Chuck" Puleo. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for all the support and compassionate care given Claire by Optum CarePlus and all the staff at St. Joseph Living Center where she resided since April of 2007; also to Dr. Charles Shooks. Calling Hours will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT, Assembly at Church. A Committal Service will be held at the family's convenience.
