Claire Asselin

Claire A. Asselin, 71, of Scotland, wife of Bert Asselin, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Windham Hospital. She had a long struggling life with diabetes. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Claire also loved music and had a good sense of humor. In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by two daughters, Donna Aleszczyk and her husband Victor of Eastford, Michelle Rupar and her husband Jimmy of Hampton, four grandchildren, a sister, Vivian Chaine and her husband Jean of Windham, a brother, Burt Roy and his wife Nancy of Norwich, an uncle, Jerry Archambault and his wife Ann of Norwich, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Valley St., Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery.
