Christopher Cox / Vasington,23, of Vernon, passed suddenly and tragically on July 6, 2011. Chris was a wonderful, caring person who loved his family and friends. He was a tender and sensitive spirit who endured a lot of pain in his short life. Chris was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin. He had a gift for making everyone laugh with his sense of humor and fun loving antics. He loved helping people and was very proud to serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Hunter's Ambulance in Meriden and previously for the town of Vernon. His love for helping people began as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Willington starting at the age of 16. He was also involved in the Civil Air Patrol, Search and Rescue and taught CPR classes for the Red Cross. Chris will forever be in his adoring girlfriend Ana's heart - she was the love of his life. Chris was so honored to have recently been asked to be the godfather of his best friend Dan and wife Angela's soon-to-arrive baby boy. He was so loved and will be forever missed by his sister Aimee who was by his side and in his corner throughout his life. He was adored and looked up to by his younger siblings Jack and Elaina who will always cherish the wonderful memories they have growing up with such a fun and loving big brother. His parents, Phil and Amy are eternally grateful for the time that God lent them this gentle soul who brought so much love, joy and happiness to their lives. Born on February 3, 1987, Chris is survived by his loving parents Amy and Philip Vasington, his siblings, Aimee Cox, Elaina and Jack Vasington, his grandparents Arthur and Karen England, Margaret Vasington, Frank Vasington and Shirley Ogozalek, his devoted girlfriend Ana Periera, cousins Amanda, Corey, Grace, Emily, Jessica, Andrea, Christopher and Erica, Great Auntie Phyl, Uncles Tom, Mark, Rob and Rich and Aunts Carol, Cecily, Cheryl, Gail and Lynn as well as many loving friends. A Celebration of Christopher's life will be held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Chapel, 42 N. Eagleville Road, Storrs, at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 13. The family will greet friends after the service.
