Christopher Douglas Bishop, 17, of Rte. 6 Andover, died Thursday Aug. 29, 2002 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Andover. He was born Sept. 17, 1984 in Victorville, CA. Christopher was a senior at the Windham Technical School studying in the school's heating, ventilation and air conditioning program. Last year he won a statewide competition in sheet metal fabrication and also took 16th place in a national competition. Christopher had played on Andover's youth basketball team. He is survived by his mother and step father Thea and Steven Brainard of Andover, his father and step mother Douglas and Debie Bishop of Washington, D.C., a half sister Desiree Brainard of Andover, a step sister Karley Bacon and a step brother Kody Bacon both of Washington, D.C., his grandmother Marie Fredrickson of E. Hartford, his grandmother Lucille Bishop of Ashburn, VA., his step grandmother Jacqueline Brainard of Wethersfield and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic TODAY from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the Townsend Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Andover. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to Windham Technical School, 210 Birch St., Willimantic, CT 06226.
