Charles John Voboril

Charles J. Voboril, 94, of Fountain Hills, AZ, formerly of Willington, husband of the late Bertha (Hrouda) Voboril, to whom he was married for 54 years, joined her on Sunday, June 26, 2005 in Arizona. He was born June 29, 1910 in New York City, the son of Joseph and Bozena (Jirkovska) Voboril. He lived in NYC and New Jersey until he was 14 when the whole family moved to Connecticut. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 33 years. Mr. Voboril was a member of the Czechoslovak Society of America, Lodge Laurel. He loved his family and friends, his home and gardening, making stained glass windows, road trips, western novels, Thursday night wrestling and his little dog, Joe . He is survived by 2 sons, Chuck Voboril and his wife Linda of Fountain Hills, AZ, Lance Voboril of Willington, a sister-in-law, Edith Knight of Tolland, 5 nephews, Joseph Voboril of Willington, William Voboril of Tolland, Marlin Knight of Tolland, Wayne Knight of Willington and Alexander Todd of Windham. Along with his family, Charles leaves his good friends, John and Diana Pierce of Fountain Hills, AZ and Kenneth Gunderson of Willington. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Todd and a brother, Joseph Voboril. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic.
